This Privacy Policy explains what information Ask Alice collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Ask Alice is operated by Iron Meridian Technologies (“Ask Alice,” “we,” or “us”). If you have questions, email sidehustlemoneystream@gmail.com.

1. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to two groups of people:

• Customers — small businesses that purchase Ask Alice for their own websites.
• End users — visitors who chat with an Alice deployed on a customer’s website, including visitors to askalice.ai who chat with our own Alice.

Different sections below explain how each group is handled.

2. Information we collect

2a. Information you provide directly

• Contact details if you give them: name, email address, phone number.
• Conversation content: the messages you send to Alice and Alice’s responses.
• Account and billing details if you become a paying customer: business name, billing address, payment information (handled and stored by our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers).

2b. Information collected automatically

• Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system.
• Usage data: timestamps, pages visited on our site, which features you used.
• Browser storage: we use the browser’s localStorage to remember your conversation across page loads (so the chat doesn’t reset every time you reload). This data lives on your device, not ours, and you can clear it through your browser at any time.

2c. Information from third parties

We do not currently buy or receive personal data from data brokers or other third parties.

3. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate the chat service and respond to your questions.
• Follow up with you if you express interest in becoming a customer.
• Provide service to our paying customers (the businesses whose websites Alice lives on).
• Improve Alice over time — reviewing conversations to identify what she answers well and where she stumbles.
• Send you transactional and operational messages (billing, service updates).
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not use your data to train third‑party models or sell it to advertisers.

4. Who we share information with

We share data only with the service providers we need to operate Ask Alice:

• Anthropic (Claude AI) — processes your messages so Alice can respond. Anthropic does not train on data sent through their API.
• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure (US‑based).
• Railway — web hosting infrastructure (US‑based).
• Stripe — payment processing for customers.
• Vapi — if you call our voice line, your audio is processed through Vapi’s telephony platform.
• Twilio — if SMS notifications are configured, alerts are delivered through Twilio.
• OpenAI — if a customer enables knowledge‑base embeddings, those embeddings are generated through OpenAI’s API.

We may also disclose information if legally compelled (subpoena, court order) or to protect rights, safety, or property. If we are involved in a merger or sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we’ll notify you if that happens.

5. How long we keep data

• Conversation history: kept for as long as the customer’s account is active, plus 12 months, unless they delete it sooner.
• Lead information (name, email, phone you gave us): kept for as long as needed for follow‑up, and removed if you ask.
• Billing records: kept for as long as required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years in the US).
• Server logs: typically rotated within 30–90 days.

6. Your rights

Regardless of where you live, you can:

• Ask us what data we have about you.
• Ask us to correct it.
• Ask us to delete it.
• Ask for a copy of it in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain uses.

If you’re in the European Union or United Kingdom (GDPR)

Our lawful bases for processing your data are: (a) contract (when you’re using our service), (b) legitimate interest (improving the product, securing the service), and (c) consent (where applicable, e.g., marketing emails). You have the right to withdraw consent, lodge a complaint with your data protection authority, and to data portability. We do not currently transfer data outside the United States; if that changes we will rely on Standard Contractual Clauses.

If you’re in California (CCPA / CPRA)

You have the right to know what personal information we have, to request deletion, to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share for cross‑context advertising), and to non‑discrimination for exercising these rights.

7. How we protect data

We use industry‑standard practices: HTTPS/TLS for all network traffic, row‑level security on our database, scoped credentials, and least‑privilege access. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that data will never be compromised. If we discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

8. Children

Ask Alice is not intended for use by children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please email us and we will delete it.

9. International users

Ask Alice is operated from the United States. By using the service, you consent to your information being processed in the United States, which may have different data protection rules than your country.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. For material changes, we’ll notify customers by email or through the service before the change takes effect.
